Al's Pals launched in 2020 and is 100% voluntary
We rely on the kindness of people who can donate anything from £1 to £100 or more. This money will go towards training our wonderful volunteers, which then allows us to offer this FREE service to the patients in Milton Keynes University Hospital. Due to the recent Coronavirus, we are restricted with our fundraising opportunities: – however, we still need donations, now more than ever. If you would like to support us, then there are many ways you can do this.
A massive thank you to MK Community Foundation who have supplied us with a number of grants and the donations we have received which has enabled us to provide gifts to cancer patients in Milton Keynes. These small gifts can make a huge difference to the patients receiving chemotherapy and can really brighten someone’s day.

On Saturday 24th July we were anticipating 8 amazing skydivers to leap over 13,000FT to help raise money for Al’s Pals. However, due to adverse weather conditions on the day, this has been put back until Sunday 26th September.
They have already raised in excess of £3,000 which is utterly fantastic. So, please wish them all luck and thank you to Jazmine Brown, Eleanor Roy , Darren Smallridge, Jenni-May Stockton, Simon Tuck, Fran Williams, Anna Dear and Saadia Bacchus.
If you want to support them, head on over to our Facebook page for more details.
We were pleased to welcome West End Musical star Zoë Curlett – a much sought-after and highly acclaimed
Soprano who has played leading roles in The Phantom of The Opera and Les Miserables, to perform for our 1st Anniversary Celebration, A Night at The Musicals. We enjoyed watching and listening to Zoe online as she performed an array of well-known musical songs.
Christmas 2020 saw us promote our Amazon Christmas wish list. Allowing members of the public to purchase a gift for the cancer patients in Milton Keynes University Hospital. These were then handed out to over 100 patients receiving treatment the week of Xmas and this can really brighten someone’s day. We are also very grateful to MK Community Foundation who awarded us with a grant which enabled us to then purchase even more.
On August 23rd 2020 a group of brave individuals took to the sky and skydived for Al’s Pals. They raised an amazing £1200.
Keep an eye out for our brave skydivers in 2021
We held our afternoon tea week in 2020 and it was a roaring success. We managed to serve 100 afternoon teas to over 100 patients in the hospital receiving treatment. We also had a number of people organise their own afternoon tea events at home and raised nearly £500.
In 2020 we all wore Red on July 13th, as this was the day that we lost Alan, for whom we named Al’s Pals after, and to remember him we asked people to #wearredforal in honour of his memory, as red was his favourite colour. So many people turned out and wore red, and we will make this an annual day of rememberance every year.
